Use the following steps to create coupons and discount codes for your classes:
- To create a coupon, navigate to the Coupons Management page.
- Click on the button "Create a Coupon".
- The coupon should now get created.
- On the resulting page, provide the following:
- Coupon Code
- Type
- Percentage
- Fixed
- Value
- Items
- Duration
- Usage Limit
- Active Date
- Expiry Date
- Click on the "Save" button.
Notes:
- To provide a 100% discount on your items, you need to create a coupon of type "Percentage" and set the "Value" to 100. Also, a 100% discount is allowed only on items with the pricing of type "One-Time Payment".
- If the coupon type is "Fixed", the coupon will work only if the checkout currency of the buyer is the same as the currency set on the coupon being used by the buyer. For example, if the buyer is located in France, the checkout currency will be Euro. Now, if the coupon being used by the buyer offers a $10 discount, the buyer will not be able to apply the coupon at the time of checkout. However, if the buyer is located in the USA, the $10 coupon code will work as expected. To conclude, remember to generate currency-specific coupons for your global audience when offering fixed amount coupons.
- The "Usage Limit" of a coupon is the count of how many times the coupon can be used by all users. If enabled, a single user can use the coupon code multiple times across different items of your school.
- A coupon cannot be applied if the final price after applying the coupon is less than $2. The only exception to this rule is if you are offering a 100% discount on "One-Time Payment".
- The following are a few more scenarios under which a coupon might not work:
- The Coupon Code is invalid.
- The Usage Limit of the coupon has reached.
- The coupon is not yet active.
- The coupon's expiry date has passed.
- The coupon cannot be applied to a specific item in your store.
